2010 is Going to be Awesome!

Happy New Year!

So...it's that time of year again.  Resolutions.  We make 'em to break 'em, which is why I normally don't make New Year's resolutions.  This year I'm joining up with Lori (aka RecipeGirl) and many MANY others worldwide for the Ten in 10: Ten Weeks to Healthy in 2010 Challenge.  It's not so much about making resolutions as it is about challenging yourself to adopt a healthier lifestyle.  In RecipeGirl's own words, it's: "a ten week commitment to making a healthy change in your life."

Feeling up to the challenge?  Join us by visiting the RecipeGirl site to sign up, and be on the lookout for Lori's updates every Saturday beginning January 2nd.  It's going to be great fun!

Here are my goals for this challenge:
+ Cut back on Diet Coke
+ Drink more water
+ Eat more: fruits, veggies, and whole grains
+ Get more sleep
+ Hit the gym 3-4 x a week

Those are all very reasonable goals, don't you think?  Really, the hardest one for me will probably be the first one, 'cause I'm crazy-addicted to Diet Coke.  Notice I didn't put "Lose 10 lbs." on that list (though goodness knows I could stand to lose 'em.  And then some!).  If all goes as planned and I hit all those goals, weight loss should be a natural side effect!  I'm looking forward to an exciting and HEALTHY 2010!  Life is good, and it's only going to get better!

* This does NOT mean I'm quitting baking, not by a long shot!

  4. Mind if I cut and paste those resolutions of yours? That is EXACTLY what I need to do to get in better shape (minus the diet coke...thankfully I don't really like soda!)

Anyhow, sorry for the delay in coming to say hello, but I wanted to thank you for swinging by my blog on Monday for my SITS day. Hope you have a very happy new year!

  8. Your goals are exactly the same ones I would make, except I don't drink coke and for me the hard one will be getting more sleep. I stay up late playing freecell on the computer. It is sooooo addicting.
